China, apparently not bound by any formal limit for greenhouse gas emissions, is being critical of Canada for withdrawing from the Kyoto treaty.  Withdrawal does not mean that Canada cannot proceed with its own voluntary targets.  China doesn’t seem to have had a target up until now, so what is the problem and what gives them the right to criticize?  Canada is just copying the US approach and numbers.  Maybe this will shift attention to why the US is not securely onboard and why the treaty has loopholes for the bigger greenhouse gas emitters.
